The download itself is now notarised.

Fixed: the disk image you download was never signed or notarised — only the app inside it was. On a Mac seeing it for the first time, macOS could refuse to open the download outright, with no way past it but right-click → Open. This is the first Perron release whose disk image carries its own notarisation ticket, so it opens the way it should, including on a Mac that is offline.
If Perron is already installed, nothing was ever wrong with your copy and there is nothing to reinstall. The app inside every disk image was correctly signed and notarised throughout; only the moment of opening a fresh download was affected.
Nothing else changed in this release.

“Launch at login” never worked. It does now.

Fixed: the “Launch at login” switch in Settings did nothing at all. It remembered your choice and showed it back to you, and Perron never asked macOS to start it — so if you switched it on, Perron was simply not there after a restart. It had been that way since the first release.
If you had it switched on, switch it off and on again once. Your choice was remembered, but nothing was ever registered from it, so it needs setting one more time to take effect.
Perron now checks at every launch rather than only when you move the switch, because the list it appears in lives in System Settings and you can change it there without Perron hearing about it. When the two disagree, Settings says so and names the list to look in.
Fixed: the Settings window opened too short for its own contents, so the “Check for updates automatically” and “Send anonymous usage counts” switches sat below the bottom edge. You could scroll to them, but nothing said they were there — a poor way to treat the two things Perron asks your permission for.

Perron now shows the connection that gets you there first.

Until now Perron showed whichever connection left first, which is not always the one you want: a 14:02 regional arriving 15:31 loses to a 14:38 express arriving 15:12. Perron now compares arrivals and shows the one that gets you there soonest. Arrival is read from live data, so a train that is losing the race also loses the pick.
New setting — “Avoid changes”. Most people will travel a few minutes longer to stay in one seat, especially with luggage or a bike, and there was no way to say so. The setting asks how much longer, as a share of the journey: from “Always the earliest arrival” to “Up to twice as long”. It starts at 8%.
When the connection shown is not the next one to leave, the card now says why — “Arrives earlier than the 14:53”, or “One change fewer than the 14:45”. Without that line Perron looks broken to the one person who is best informed: someone who knows there is a 14:53.
None of this is route planning. Perron still only ranks the connections the timetable already returns for a route you saved.

Delayed departures showed the wrong time.

Fixed: a delayed departure counted its delay twice. A train scheduled for 14:44 and running four minutes late showed as “14:48 +4” — but on a departure board the number beside the clock is what you add, so that reads as 14:52. It now shows “14:44 +4”, the same way SBB does, and the delay is stated once.
Fixed: “Open on SBB.ch” searched from the delayed time rather than the scheduled one, so for a late train it could open a different connection than the one on screen.
A train running ahead of schedule now shows its scheduled time rather than the early prediction — a train does not leave before its time, so the earlier figure was never one to be on the platform for.

Location picks the right stop when your stops are close together.

Perron now locates you about ten times more precisely. It was asking macOS for a position accurate to a kilometre, which is no use when two of your saved stops are less than that apart — a one- or two-stop commute could pick either. It still does not use GPS.
Fixed: after travelling away from all your saved stops, the menu bar could switch to an unrelated connection instead of staying on the one you were looking at.
Fixed: changing something in Settings while the welcome window was still open could undo the answers you had just given it.

Fixes to the new location setting, all of them found by using it.

Fixed: switching location on could do nothing at all — no permission request, no explanation. If you tried it in 0.2.0 and gave up, it works now.
Perron now tells you which of the two things is wrong when it cannot use your location: that macOS will not ask again because it was refused once, or that Location Services is switched off for the whole Mac. They need different fixes and it used to say the same thing for both.
There is now a button straight to the right page of System Settings, and the message clears itself as soon as you fix it there.

Perron can follow you between stations — if you let it.

New: Perron can show the connection leaving from whichever of your saved stops you are nearest, so a home and a work connection stop needing to be switched by hand.
This is off until you switch it on in Settings, and macOS asks you separately before Perron may read your position at all. Your position is worked out on your Mac and is never transmitted — not to me, not to the transport service.
Picking a connection by hand still wins: your choice holds for the override window in Settings before location takes over again.
This is the first release that installs itself, if you are on 0.1.2.

Perron can install its own updates now — and goes looking for them.

Fixed: an update would download and then fail to install. Perron runs in Apple's sandbox, and it was not asking macOS for the one piece of help a sandboxed app needs in order to replace itself.
Perron now looks for updates on its own, rather than only when you ask it to. A fresh install is told on first launch; if you already had Perron, this update switched it on without asking — you can switch it off in Settings, and checking by hand still works either way.
Because the previous version could not install updates, this one has to be installed by hand. It is the last time.

An icon, and a disk image that says what to do with it.

Perron has an app icon — a split-flap departure board.
The disk image now opens with an Applications folder beside the app and an arrow between them, so installing is a drag rather than a guess.
